Johnny Lynn Turner, of Barnesville, GA, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Spalding Regional Medical Center. Mr. Turner was born December 16, 1940 in Chattanooga, TN to the late John L. and Quinnie Elizabeth Ogelvie Turner. He enjoyed driving in the mountains to see God’s beauty, golfing, traveling, peanut butter and jelly, watching old TV shows, music, watching granddaughter’s softball games and loved spending time with his friends and family. He was a Baptist. He was a member of Cedar and Pines Golf Club. Mr. Johnny Turner is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Amelia Turner; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Dave Wise, Laurie and Mike Fitzmorris, all of West Palm Beach, FL; step-daughter, Ronda Scoggins, of High Falls; step-son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Runt Smith, of Moreland; 8 grandchildren, Aliyah Wise, Robert Sager, Clifford Fitzmorris, Josh, Barry, Justin and Brittney Scoggins, and Nicky Smith; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and “Buster” Mills, of TN, Joan and Ken Queen, of NC; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Franklin and Faye Turner, of TN, Ray and Diane Turner, of Villa Rica; several nieces and nephews; special best friend, Sandi Fowler, of High Falls; good friends, Eddie Scroggins, James and Carole Dooley, all of High Falls. He was loved by many. Memorial services for Mr. Johnny Turner will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Sherrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. Those who wish may sign the on-line guest registry at www.sherrellfh.com.
