Obituary of Marie Phillips

Mrs. Ellen Marie Harmon Phillips, of Jackson, GA, died Monday, September 5, 2011. She was born October 13, 1942 in Atlanta, GA to the late Billy F. and Mable Marie Norton Harmon. She retired from Arch Wood Protection following 33 yrs of service. She is a member of Heart and Soul Christian Center and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends. Marie is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Kristy and Darren Anthony, of McDonough, Kelli and Danny P. Daniel, Jr., of Silverhill, AL; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Randy Phillips, of Jackson, Joseph and Deana Phillips, of Gulf Shores, AL; grandchildren, Cory, Nick, Austin, Ryan, Jessica, Brittany, and Quentin; 1 great-granddaughter, Skylar, on the way; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Jerry Halcomb, of Daytona Beach, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Teresa Harmon, of Daytona Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Randall Phillips, and son, Billy Phillips. Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Phillips will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Heart and Soul Christian Church with Pastor Michael Burge officiating. Interment will be at Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday and Friday evenings. In lieu of flowers, food baskets may be donated for distribution to local shelters or donations may be made to Heart and Soul Christian Church, P.O. Box 1015, Jackson, GA 30233 in memory of Marie.
