Obituary of Howard Lee Jones, Jr.

Mr. Howard Lee Jones, Jr., age 78, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 at Westbury Medical Care & Rehab in Jackson, Georgia. He was born on Saturday, May 25, 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Howard Lee Jones, Sr. and the late Doris Lucile Lester Jones. Howard was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He worked in the building supply industry, having worked at Stringer Lumber Co. in McDonough, Plymart in Covington and

ACE-Jones Hometown Hardware in Jackson. Howard was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Linda Mason Jones, who passed away on July 25, 2018.

Howard is survived by his children, Michele and Jim Ellington of North Augusta, South Carolina, Michael and Hunter Jones of Jackson, Matt Jones of Jackson; grandsons, Hayes Ellington, Knowlen Jones; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Howard Jones, Jr. will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Alex Bostow and Tracy Hartness officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A special thank you to the staff of Westbury Medical Rehab Center for their attentive care.
