Obituary of Elise G. Maddox
Mrs. Elise Gregg Maddox, age 96, of Jackson, GA passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin. She was born Thursday, August 24, 1922, in Eastman, Georgia, daughter of the late John Mitchell Singley and the late Annie Ruth Young Singley. Mrs. Maddox was an active member of Second Baptist Church, choir, and served as a Sunday school teacher more than 65 years. She was a member of Woman’s Missionary Union. Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by husbands, Wilburn T. Gregg, Levie Maddox; brothers, Roy, Marvin, Troy, Clarence, Emory Singley; sisters, Joyce Harrell and Brenda Singley.
Mrs. Maddox is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Peggy Gregg, Carl Mitchell (Mickey) and Linda Welch Gregg all of Jackson, stepson and step-daughter-in-law, Stanley and Andrea Maddox; grandchildren, A. Lewis and Virginia Rose Gregg, Carly Michelle Gregg, Trevor and Heather Hutchins, Stan and Louanne Maddox, Andy and Amie Maddox; several great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Paulk; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Elise Gregg Maddox will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Second Baptist Church of Jackson with Pastor Rickie Stubbs and Pastor Tim Prickett officiating. Interment will be in the Pepperton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until 12:00 before the service.
