Mrs. Mary Joyce Thompson Adams, age 83, of Jackson, GA, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020, at Brightmoor Hospice. She was born on Friday, September 11, 1936, in Eatonton, Georgia, daughter of the late Richard L. Thompson and the late Myrtle Jones Thompson. Joyce was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Neil Adams.
Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sandy Adams; granddaughter, Hayley Adams; brothers and sister-in-law, Charlie Thompson, and Melvin and Judy Thompson; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Terry Sims.
A graveside service for Mrs. Joyce Adams will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 9, 2020, in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Steve Dudley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfuneralhome.com
