Mr. Cal Green was a man who I respected. He was very caring. I worked with Dept. of Corrections in Southwest Ga. and I will surely miss him. He was a man of character. See you again in Heaven.

I had the opportunity to work with Cal as his assistant while he was the Southwest Region Director. Cal often received some "ribbing and agitating" from his cohorts, and he did his share of the "ribbing" also. There was a story told that Cal hit several deer with his "state car" when he was warden at Ware CI. It was said that he put "deer whistles" on his car to scare the deer away, but he was accused of putting them on backwards and calling the deer to his vehicle. Of course he had a "come back".
