Mr. Thomas Larry Hortman, age 81, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital.
Larry was born on Saturday, June 15, 1940, in Butler, Georgia to the late Thomas Melvin Hortman and the late Ouida Elizabeth Peterman Hortman. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Chris Hortman. Larry faithfully served in the United States Army. He was a member of Towaliga Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon. He enjoyed cross word puzzles and was a loving husband and caregiver.
Larry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Becky Hortman; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kay Hortman; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Gary and Janet Hortman, Ronnie Hortman; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Larry Hortman will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Towaliga Baptist Church with Reverend Jay Sanders and Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow at Towaliga Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
