Obituary of Phyllis Collins Marshall

Mrs. Phyllis Collins Marshall, age 68, of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of Peachtree City, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Phyllis was born on Sunday, November 16, 1952, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Reverend Raymond Buford Collins and the late Rudyne Martin Collins. She graduated from R.E. Lee High School, received her bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan College, where she was a Wesleyan Scholar. She obtained a master’s degree at Mercer University and obtained a Specialist in Education Degree at Georgia State University. Phyllis spent numerous years as an educator, first as a teacher and later in administration. She was a former member of First Assembly of God Church in Griffin Georgia, for 35 years, serving in numerous leadership roles, and a current member of Calvary Christian Center in Ormond Beach, Florida. She loved and cared for people, her family, and, most of all, The Lord. She was full of life with a bubbly personality; a person who was loved by all who met her. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ricky Marshall; son and daughter-in-law, Collin and Julia Marshall; grandchildren, Aiden Marshall and Abigail Marshall; numerous cousins; several special friends. She had no siblings but claimed several “sisters.” Phyllis was laid to rest beside her parents in Westwood Gardens in Griffin, Georgia. A memorial service for Mrs. Phyllis Collins Marshall will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Calvary Christian Center, Ormond Beach, Florida with Reverend Dawn Raley officiating.
