Mrs. Bertie Stephens McCullough, of Jackson, GA, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at Sylvan Grove Hospital. She was born February 15, 1921 in Ellijay, GA to the late John C. and Iona Elliott Stephens. She was a charter and beloved member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church and enjoyed, gardening, waiting on customers, church, and spending time with her family and friends. She owned and operated Mac's Variety Store for 43 yrs. “Miss Mac” is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Bettie and Jason Long, of Conyers, Patricia Walston, of Fayetteville, Dale Cowart, of Gainesville; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Diane McCullough, of Cumming, Roy McCullough, of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas McCullough, 2 sisters and 7 brothers. Funeral services for Mrs. Bertie McCullough will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Cedar Rock Baptist Church with Pastor Marty Duren, Pastor Jim Myers and Rev. Frank Carson, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Worthville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 - 9:00 PM Wednesday evening.
