Obituary
Obituary of Joan Jaros
Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joan Jaros, compassionate, generous, and strong, passed away at age 92 on December 15, 2021.
Joan was unwavering in her dedication to helping others. She spent years working as a nurse, feeding, and caring for those in need. She opened her home to troubled youth, giving them a chance to rebuild their lives. She made her mark on the world by being generous with her time. Through her work and volunteering, many lives were saved, and even more souls. Her life truly exemplified Matthew 23:11, “The greatest among you must be a servant.”
A light to all who knew her, Joan is survived by her sisters, Jackie Becosky and Mary Braem, her son James, and his wife Robin Jaros.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Andrea and Chris Huot, Anthony and Kelly Jaros, Alicia and John Madias, James, Heather, Jason and Jennifer Jaros. Joan was blessed to have met and loved many great-grandchildren: Dan Jaros, Juliet Jaros, Luke Madias, Cali Madias and Sophia Jaros.
A celebration of life will be held on January 15, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Jaros officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America via www.alzfdn.org. For those unable to attend the service will be live streamed on the funeral home's Facebook page.
Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfuneralhome.com.
