Obituary of Jerry Mathis

Jerry Lee Mathis, age 61, of Jackson, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Newton Medical Center. He was born December 5, 1951 in Monroe, GA to Flora Mae Davis Mathis and the late Lloyd Mathis. He worked at Spring Mill for 25 years, was of the Penicostal Faith, enjoyed fishing, playing horse shoes, watching tv, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tim Mathis. Jerry is survived by his wife, Joanne Mathis, of Jackson; daughters and son-in-law, Tonia and David Dalton, Angela Mathis and Amanda Mathis, all of Jackson; grandchildren, Keith Dalton, Haley Fuller, Kayla Fuller, Tiffany Fuller, Kensey Fuller, Heather English; mother and step-father, Flora Mae and Wesley Pullin, of Covington; brother, David Pullin, of Covington; sisters, Mattie Kitchens, of Covington, Debra Brown, of Social Circle, Jane Pace and Judy Childs, both of Arcade, Barbara Baxter, of Nicholson, and Ann Wise, of Jefferson. Funeral services for Jerry Mathis will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Palmer Pace officiating. Interment will be at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 - 9:00 PM Saturday evening.
