Obituary of Donald Lindsey Maddox
Mr. Donald (Don) Lindsey Maddox, age 80, of Jackson, GA passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Don was born in Tallassee, Alabama to the late parents of Alvin and Sara Maddox. He was a retired Vietnam veteran with over 44 years of federal service. Over 22 years as an Army Soldier and 22 years as a Department of the Army Civilian. He loved his family.
Don is survived by his wife, Adelheid Maddox, and his children and spouses Karl and Laura Maddox, Linda and Carlos Dicho, Joann and Peter Glunz; grandchildren with spouses, Markus Glunz and Ricarda Reiners; Christian and Lida Glunz; Sylvia, Daniel and Niko Maddox, great grandchildren, Lunis and Lewin Glunz.; late brother, Ray Maddox; brother, James Maddox, sister, Judy Hudson; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022, at the Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home, 212 E. College St, Jackson, GA 30233. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Final resting place is the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160. Full military honors will commence at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, to honor Don’s memory, take a close friend or relative out for coffee, lunch or dinner, or a beer, and SMILE, he will be with you.
