Obituary of Sharon Lynn Harkness

Mrs. Sharon Lynn Smith Harkness, age 64, of Jackson, Georgia passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022.

Sharon was born on Wednesday, December 18, 1957, in Corinth, Mississippi to the late Lester William Smith and the late Carrie Sweatman Smith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Harkness, Sr.; brothers, Larry Smith and Gerald Smith; sister, Estelle Ayers. Sharon was a registered nurse with Wellstar Sylvan Grove. She loved to read John Grisham and Nicholas Sparks novels and watching her favorite tv shows.  Sharon also enjoyed cooking, antique cars and going to the beach.

Sharon is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jessica Essary, John Harkness; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dan Feiler; grandchildren, Carolyn Harkness, Audrey Harkness, Samantha Feiler, Jack Feiler; sister, Louise Mullins; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Geneva Smith; special niece and nephew, Wesley and Denise Parker; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service for Mrs. Sharon Harkness will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Ralph Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Fellowship Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
