Obituary of Clayton Emory
Mr. Otho Clayton Emory, age 71, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
Clayton was born on Tuesday, June 5, 1951, in Greenwood, South Carolina to the late Otho Green Emory, Jr. and the late Willie Ruth Clayton Emory. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Parker. Clayton was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and worked as a lineman with Pike Electric. He was an avid University of Georgia and Atlanta Braves fan. Clayton enjoyed golfing and was a singer in two bands, Hard Times and Misfits. His pride and joy was his 1967 Pontiac GTO.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 38 years, Terri Emory; son, Laurs Emory; daughter and son-in-law, Chelsea and Dan Cooper; grandson, Graham Cooper; step grandchildren, Kylie Cooper, Bennett Cooper; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Mark Jennette; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Clayton Emory will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham and Mr. Ralph Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Pepperton Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. before the service at the funeral home. Friends may also visit the family at 954 Brookwood Avenue, Jackson, Georgia 30233.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzhiemers Association, act.alz.org, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601, or to your favorite charity.
