Obituary of William Franklin Heath
Mr. William Franklin “Billy” Heath, age 77, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023.
Billy was born on Wednesday, April 10, 1946, in Jackson, Georgia to the late William Dawson “W.D.” Heath and the late Annie Louise Cochran Heath. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Peggy Knight, Barbara Rutledge; brother Dawson Heath. Billy served in the United States Marines and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He retired from Delta Airlines where he worked as an aircraft mechanic supervisor. Billy enjoyed cutting grass, going to flea markets, and playing slot machines. He also loved going to the beach and was an avid Georgia Tech fan.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sandra Heath; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and John Cook; grandchildren, Will and Haley Cook, Rhett Cook; great-grandchildren, Ila “Miss Ila Ann” and Dansby “Chunk”; aunt, Lillian Anglin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service for Mr. Billy Heath will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the home of John and Cindy Cook, 240 Walter Moore Road, Jackson, Georgia 30233 and again on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
