Obituary of James Clarence Moss, Jr.

Mr. James Clarence Moss, Jr., age 91, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023.

Jimmy was born on Tuesday, March 1, 1932, in Indian Springs, Georgia to the late James Clarence Moss Sr. and the late Mardelle Strawn Moss. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Glover Moss; and son, Jim Moss. He served in the United States Air Force and was in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Jimmy was an avid Jackson Red Devils and Georgia Tech fan. He enjoyed traveling to different states, studying history, and loved people.

Jimmy is survived by his grandchildren, Ashely Vigil and Andrew Loper, Tiffany Benson, William Crawford, Allisa Davidson; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several cousins, among them, Dottie and Doc McMichael, Janice and Martin Mueller.

A funeral service for Mr. Jimmy Moss will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel at 4:00 P.M. with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow later at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
