Obituary of Ronald Powell
Mr. Ronald Edward “Ronnie” Powell, age 81, of Jackson, Georgia passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023.
Ronnie was born on Sunday, March 1, 1942, in Emma, Georgia to the late Walter Claude Powell and Lois McClure Powell. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Donna Gail Powell; his brothers, Arnold Powell, Frank Powell, and Dwight Powell; sister, Jean Gilreath. Ronnie attended Jackson Nazarene Church. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting rabbits and in his younger years, deer hunting.
Ronnie is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Gina Powell, Dean and Julie Powell, Jeff and Carla Powell; grandchildren, Susan and Steve Owens, Erin and Shawn Schrock, Christopher and Amy Powell, Beth and Ismael Garcia, Tyler and Haylee Powell, and Alan Powell; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Carolyn Bruce, Melody and Jerald Ballew, Linda Wiggington; brother, Gary Powell; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Ronnie Powell will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Steve Dudley officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson City Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
