I will always be grateful to call her my grandmother. She was the best role model, support system, and loving woman. I was close to 5 years old when she married my granddaddy porter. I never once felt like a step grandchild. I felt like HER GRANDDAUGHTER. She was the only grandmother I have ever known. I will love her and cherish her daily. Miss Nita, grandma, bestieā¦ I hope you are having good time in heaven and there is plenty of good music, snacks, cokes and laughter. Thank you for your love and words of wisdom! I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU! Sunday afternoons and Christmas will always be my favorite memories with her!

I am so grateful for the years Miss Nita spent with my children and myself. She has been in my life since I was 16. She was a great-grandmother to my children and a Grandmother to me when I didn't have one. We will miss her, but cherish all the holidays we were able to spend with her.
