Obituary of Margaret Kitchens Johnson Miller
Mrs. Margaret Kitchens Johnson Miller, age 87, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
Margaret was born Sunday, August 23, 1936, in Jackson, Georgia to the late Bert Tammany Kitchens, Sr. and the late Sarah Frances Baxter Kitchens Horton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, W.J. Horton; husbands, Herschel Lee Johnson, Jr., and Marvin Ray Miller; son, Herschel Lee Johnson III; brother, Bert Tammany Kitchens, Jr. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed crafting, genealogy, watching westerns and Andy Griffith. Margaret loved spending time at the lake and the beach but most of all loved to spend time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dink and Amanda Johnson, Lance and Cindy Johnson, Susie Johnson; grandchildren, Bud and Amanda Johnson, Kim Johnson and Dave Reems, Alisha and John Lee, Aleatha and Danny Stewart, Christie and Josh Batten, Amber and Josh Mattison, Ashley Johnson; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Whitaker; sisters-in-law, Effie Miller, Juanita Pearson, Peggie Johnson, Linda Johnson; her precious chihuahua, Tippy; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Miller will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
