Mrs. Nellie Branan (Nell) Norsworthy, age 79, of Jackson, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at her residence. She was born on August 16, 1934 in McDonough, GA to the late James C. Branan and the late Ruby Louise Hooten Branan. Mrs. Norsworthy was retired from McIntosh State Bank. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Jackson and had served with the Piedmont Henry Women’s Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by a sister, Tiny Cook, and brother, Doug Branan.
Mrs. Norsworthy is survived by her husband of 59 years, PeeWee Norsworthy; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Amanda Norsworthy, Donnie and Angela Norsworthy, Ronnie and Trish Norsworthy; grandchildren, Ashley and Bryan Hinkle, Branan and Briana Norsworthy, Sam Norsworthy, Sara Norsworthy, Jack Norsworthy, Ben Norsworthy, and Kate Norsworthy; great-grandchildren, Ava, Ella, Bryce, and Brady; sisters, Shirley Woodruff and Debbie Hall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny and Peggy Branan and Leonard and Margaret Branan; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nell Norsworthy will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 22, 2013 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Dr. Ed Hoard and Ralph Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening. Flowers will be accepted, but those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 301 Kelly Dr., Suite 3, Peachtree City, GA 30269 or Women’s Auxiliary, ℅ Piedmont Henry Hospital, 1133 Eagle’s Landing Parkway, Stockbridge, GA 30281 in memory of Mrs. Norsworthy.
