Obituary of Glenn Herschel Meredith

Mr. Glenn Herschel Meredith, age 89, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025.

 

Glenn was born Wednesday, July 3, 1935, in Jackson, Georgia to the late William and Myrtice Meredith.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas, Elwood, Betty and Lurlene.  He graduated from Jackson High School, class of 1953.  Glenn then served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958.

He then worked at Robins Air Force Base, traveling extensively as a civilian until his retirement in 1990.  During that time, he also served in the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve until he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1995.  Glenn remained active by working various jobs and loved working in the yard.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends.  Glenn was a member of Jackson Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.

 

Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Grace Meredith, sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Barbara Meredith, Wade and Laura Meredith; several nieces, nephews and cousins; longtime friends, Dave and Harriet Witt of Baldwinsville, New York.

 

 

There is no formal service at this time.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Glenn’s memory to Jackson Presbyterian Church, 240 North Oak Street, Jackson, Georgia 30233.
