Mr. James Howard “Jim” Darden, Sr., age 60, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Darden was born August 19, 1953 in Elkins, West Virginia to the late George E. Darden and the late Norma C. Cockerill Darden. Jim was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked as a manager at Kinney Shoe Corporation, worked with Frito Lay, and worked 21 years at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison. Jim loved raising his chickens. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and he loved God with all of his heart.
Mr. Darden is survived by his wife, Cyndi Darden; children and their spouses, Melody English and Robert, James Darden II and Erin, Jeffrey Ryan Darden and Heather, Kristen Corley and Blake; grandchildren, Christopher English, Matthew English, David Corley, Daniel Corley, Catherine Darden, Thomas English, Jack Darden, and Nathaniel Darden; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert C. and Barbara Darden, Thomas M. and Nancy Darden; sister and brother-in-law, Carroll H. and Wayne Clason; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service for Jim Darden will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Hillbrook Farms, 321 Brooks Road, Jackson, Georgia. Reverend Brent Bramblett will officiate. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com
