Obituary of James Henry Sisson

Henry Sisson, born 25 September 1927, and a lifetime resident of Union Point, GA died peacefully in the early dusk of Monday, 1 December 2014. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1945-1946 and enjoyed many of the benefits afforded to our country’s veterans. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church Union Point where he served many years as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, usher, and Benevolence Committee member.
He was at one time a city councilman, member of Lion’s Club International, and he recently received his Fifty-Year Recognition as a Freemason, Chappell Lodge No. 511.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife the late Linda Welch Sisson (1941-1998) and brother Weldon A. Sisson. He is survived by his brother William C. Sisson and William’s wife Eddie Lee, and nephews Wayne, John, and Bill Sisson and family, niece Jimmie Hilton and grand-niece Katie McAdams, three daughters, Karen Sisson York , Patricia Sisson Huff, and Debbie Sisson Askew, and a son Jim, and three granddaughters, Katie Huff Boozer, Laura Huff, and Ellie Askew, along with two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church Union Point this Friday, 5 December at 10 a.m. A committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home, 212 East College St., Jackson, GA 30233.
