Samuel Young “Sammy” Coleman, Sr., age 72, of Savannah, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his residence. He was born on Sunday, April 5, 1942 in Jackson, GA to the late Eva Mae Cook Ellsworth. Sammy worked for Ford Motor Company for 40 years, and he loved working on cars. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane White Coleman; grandparents, Ray and Lucille Cook; and sister, Eleanor Coleman.
Sammy is survived by his children, Sam and Heather Coleman, Mike Sexton, and Jeff Sexton; grandchildren, Logan Coleman, Vala Coleman, Daniel Sexton, and Stephen Sexton; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Sammy Coleman will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Sam Coleman and Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will be at Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon.
