Obituary of Loretta Browning

BROWNING Mrs. Loretta Browning, age 84, of Jackson, GA, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Emory University Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1930 in Holton, GA to the late Mack Gray Finney and the late Lessie Iola Mackey Finney. Mrs. Browning was a graduate of Macon School of Nursing. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and square dancing and was a member of the Jacks and Jills. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Mrs. Browning was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John William Browning Jr.; and two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Browning is survived by her children and their spouses, Mike and Pam Browning of Jackson, Mark and Janice Browning of Winterville, GA, Lisa Browning of Alexandria, VA, Mack and Melanie Browning of Deerfield Beach, FL; stepson, John Browning III and Marcia of Corning, NY; grandchildren, Paige, Garrett, Lily, Madeleine, Jack, Phoebe; seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Carl Moody Finney and Barbara; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Loretta Browning will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy L. Mangham officiating. Interment will be at Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday evening. Flowers will be accepted, but those desiring may make memorial contributions to The First Baptist Church of Jackson, 1227 W. Third Street, Jackson, GA 30233 in memory of Mrs. Browning.
