John Willis Rodgers, age 80, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. He was born on Wednesday, October 31, 1934 in Chatsworth, Georgia to the late Aden Albert Rodgers and the late Mamie Ledford Rodgers. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was retired from General Motors following 31 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gospel music, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by wife of 47 years, Lucille Henderson Rodgers; brother, Donald Rodgers; step-brothers, Fletcher and Lester Rodgers; step-sister, Edna McDaniel.
John is survived by his fiance', Leanoah Vaughn of Barnesville; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Charles Collins of Jackson; son and daughter-in-law, John Stanley and Judy Rodgers of Jackson; 4 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funerals services for Mr. John Willis Rodgers will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Lamar Cole and Reverend Arthur Jett officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Brent Bramblett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Mr. Rodgers will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
