Obituary of Francis Douglas Lieb

Mr. Francis Douglas “Ducky” Lieb, age 79, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at his residence. He was born on Sunday, November 3, 1935 in Atlanta, GA to the late Theodore Carl Lieb and the late Frances Douglas Craft Lieb Harris. Ducky honorably served in the United States Army, Navy, and Reserves having served in Germany during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening and loved making and repairing furniture. Ducky was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Theodore Carl Lieb, Robert Charles Lieb, and David M. Harris.
Ducky Lieb is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Hardman Lieb; son and daughter-in-law, James D. and Cathy Lieb; daughter, Melinda Frances Lieb; grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Patton, Amber Lynn Butler, Brandy Palicki, and Amanda Anglin; great-grandchildren, Kayden Jacob Feltman, Austin Ivy, Noah O’Neal, Paiton O’Neal, Kamdon Palicki, and Hayley Bayne; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Francis Douglas “Ducky” Lieb will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy L. Mangham officiating. Interment will follow in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
