Peggy Winona O’Neal Nolan, age 79, of Jackson, GA, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. Peggy was born on Thursday, March 12, 1936 in Jackson, GA to the late Harvey Lee O’Neal and the late Louise Boyd O’Neal. She worked at Avondale Mills and was a caretaker for the elderly. Peggy was an active member of Oakland Baptist Church in McDonough and was a member of the church choir. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, tending flowers, and cooking. Peggy loved to cook biscuits and chocolate pie. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas O’Neal, Russell O’Neal, Terry O’Neal, Dennis O’Neal, and a sister, Nettie Fay O’Neal.
Peggy is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Anita and John Vigna of Silver Spring, Maryland and Vicki Nolan of Griffin; son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Lynn Latham of Peachtree City; grandchildren, Kimberly Card, Cooper Latham, Sydney Latham, Patrick Vigna; great-granddaughter, Charley Card; sister, Jean Bell of Stockbridge; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Peggy Nolan will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mike Smith officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com
