Obituary of Dorothy White

Dorothy Nell White, 81, of Morrow Georgia, died January, 18, 2016. Dot was born on December 21, 1934 in Hackelburg, Alabama to Ben and Zola Hudson. She graduated from Deshler High School in Tuscumbia, Alabama and Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She worked many years as a registered nurse. She and her husband, Harold, moved to Forest Park from Birmingham in the early 1960s. The family moved to Morrow in 1975. She worked at Clayton General Hospital in many different capacities. She worked for American Greeting Cards and at Community Christian School in Stockbridge after Harold’s death in 1998. She attended Morrow First Baptist Church for many years and was active in the Morrow Civic Women’s Club. She attended East Cobb Church of Christ regularly the last few years when she lived in Marietta near her son. She loved to read and she enjoyed watching sporting events on television. She also enjoyed traveling to watch Haley’s softball games and other events involving her grandchildren when she was able. Mrs. White is survived by her sister, Brenda Gail Hudson; son, David, and his wife, Laura and their children Daniel, William and Adelaide White; grandson, Chris Kelley and fiancé Amey and her daughter, Haley; and grandson Ricky White. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her daughter, Debbie and her son, Ricky. She will be cremated. The family will hold a memorial service at East Cobb Church of Christ in Marietta at 3:00 on Saturday, January 23rd.
