Life Legacy
Clovis Dewayne Owens, age 44, of Jackson, GA, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Wellstar Sylvan Grove Hospital. Clovis was born on Saturday, February 12, 1972 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Edna Mae Wright Owens and the late Calvin Clovis Owens. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin Ray Owens and Steven Scott Owens. Clovis was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a 1990 graduate of Henry County High School. Clovis loved to collect model trains. He worked with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for 16 years.
Clovis is survived by his wife, Sandy Owens; daughter, Emily Owens; son, William Owens; mother, Edna Owens; brother, Gale Wright; sisters, Myrtle Hillis, Belinda Vaughn, Wilma Fuller, Tina Lunsford, Karen Owens; mothers-in-law and fathers-in-law, Debbie and Rick West, Mike and Janet Jackson; brothers-in-law, Bryan Jackson, Jeff West, and Jamie West; sisters-in-law, Amy West and Alane Bradfield; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorial services for Clovis Owens will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Norman Schneller officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in the name of Sandra Owens, ℅ United Bank, 150 Covington Street, Jackson, GA 30233, for a trust fund for the surviving children of Clovis Owens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com
