Mr. Robert Lloyd “Bob” Johnson, age 87, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Wellstar Sylvan Grove Hospital. He was born on Sunday, March 24, 1929 in Decatur, GA to the late Jessie Clifford Johnson and the late Kansas McKenzie Johnson. Mr. Johnson was of the Baptist faith. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and farming. Mr. Johnson served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his brother, Louis “Jerry” Johnson, and sister, Ruth Agnew.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hazel Johnson; children, Wanda Moore and Larry Johnson; grandson, Jason Moore; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Riley Jones; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Bob Johnson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Pastor David O’Steen officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Resthaven Garden of Memory in Decatur. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
