Life Legacy
Mrs. Shelby Jean Carter Sellers, age 78, of Forsyth, GA, formerly of Jackson, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. She was born on Friday, September 23, 1938 in Conyers, GA to the late Rufus B. Carter and the late Annie Ruth West Carter. Shelby was a member of County Line Baptist Church. She was a talented and loved woman. Shelby was an artist, writer, and singer. She was preceded in death by a son, “Pete” Horace Eugene Sellers, Jr., 6 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Shelby is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Dr. Gene Sellers; children and their spouses, Deborah Jones, Vickie and James Holley, Cathy and Bill Leary; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; great-great-granddaughter, Dakota Miller; sister, Shirley Bailey; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Shelby Sellers will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at County Line Baptist Church with Dr. Gene Sellers and Reverend Nelson Goddard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, County Line Road, Jenkinsburg, GA 30234.
