Mr. Robert James “Bob” “Biggon” “Junk Man” Lummus, age 82, of Jackson, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Piedmont Newton Hospital. He was born on Tuesday, April 16, 1935 in Flovilla, GA to the late Clinton Cornelious Lummus, Sr. and the late Jimmie Lee Coady Lummus. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He loved auctions, and his number was always 242. Bob enjoyed produce stands and was a junk man. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Lee Donaldson Lummus, son, Robert Lummus, and 10 siblings.
Robert is survived by his children, Ronnie Lummus, Lena Faye Brown, James Albert Joe Lummus, Mona Lisa Lummus Anderson, Rose Lee Lummus, Hope Jones, Zack Lummus; 15 grandchildren; sister, Mae Varnum; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service for Bob Lummus will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham and Reverend Robert Joe Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Flovilla South Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
