Mr. James Warthern “Woppy” Cook, age 86, of Jackson, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Cook was born April 1, 1926 in Butts County to the late Tommie Lee Cook and the late Evye Thaxton Cook. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maureen Blanford Cook; grandson, Michael Harper; and son-in-law, Aubrey James; brothers, Garland Cook and Wendell Cook. Mr. Cook is survived by his sons, Randy Cook, Richard Cook, Steven Cook, and Donald Cook; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Don Little, Becky and John Ramsey and Sandra James; grandsons, Lt. Col. Don Little, Jr. and Jeremy James; 6 step-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Phillips, Sara Ruth Kitchens, Billie Blanford and Shirley Elrod; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for “Woppy” Cook will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. Robbie Norman, Rev. Richard Culpepper and Chaplain Jim Weathers officiating. Interment will follow at the Worthville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 9:00 PM Friday evening or at the home of Mrs. Sara Ruth Kitchens. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to VistaCare Hospice, 242 Odell Road, Griffin, GA 30224 or the American Heart Association, P.O.
