Mrs. Emmaline Barnett Nolan, of Jackson, GA, received her eternal reward Thursday, February 24, 2011 at her residence. She was born May 7, 1930 in Atlanta, GA to the late Jackson Arnold and Maxine Rose Swansberg Barnett. She was a member of the Eastern Star, former Worthy Grand Matron of the Eastern Star, Jeptha Chapter, and member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church. Emmaline enjoyed playing the guitar since she was 8 yrs old and continued playing and singing until the evening before she died. She loved her family very much, enjoyed traveling and enjoyed her cruise to Hawaii . Emmaline is survived by 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanette Nolan, of Stone Mountain, Judith Salee, of Jackson, Sherry and Jim Dennis, of Canton; 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Ralph Nolan, of Lawrenceville, Terry and Ruby Nolan, of Jackson, Marty and Laura Nolan, of Atlanta; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Nancy and Bobby Brown, of Covington, Lucy Windham, of Houston, TX, Margie and Chuck Nichols, of Covington; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Mildred Barnett, of Griffin, Johnny and Isabelle Barnett, of Bainbridge; several nieces, nephews, and honorary adopted sons and daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Nolan; husband, Leroy Whitaker; sister, Pat Chester; and brother, Jackie Barnett. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the Chapel of Sherrell Funeral Home with Minister Evan Black officiating. Interment will be at Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 26 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. Flowers are welcome, but contributions may be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church, 123 Mimosa Lane, Jackson, GA 30233 in memory of Mrs. Nolan.
